The Only Booking & Information Centre on the Doorstep of the Abel Tasman
Located right on the Marahau waterfront, The Abel Tasman Centre is the physical hub of AbelTasman.com. It is also a general store, the booking office for park activities and the departure point for sea kayaking and water taxi trips. Rounding things off rather well, the centre is also the booking and check-in office for the Marahau Beach Camp, which is located right across the street.

With general grocery items, an off-licence for sales of alcohol and rental of camping equipment all located on site, the Abel Tasman Centre is an ideal place gear up for your Abel Tasman experience. With Hooked, the cafe and beer garden located in the same building, visitors can also grab a barista coffee and home cooked bakery goods in preparation of their trip.
The Alborn family redeveloped the site into the Abel Tasman Centre and Hooked in 2001. The centre quickly became the social hub of Marahau for locals and visitors alike. In 2018 the Alborn family constructed a brand new base for Marahau Sea Kayaks and Marahau Water Taxis as well as the central administration office for all of their Abel Tasman-based visitor businesses. The overall facility, with the Abel Tasman Centre, Hooked and the new kayaking and water taxi base has set a new standard for the local visitor industry.
